Tripler General Hospital
Army casualties of the Japanese attack were treated at Tripler General Hospital (now Tripler Army Medical Center) at Fort Shafter, north of Honolulu. Civilians came to help, including some ladies who had been in the business of rendering more intimate service to soldiers in the past. They were asked to fetch small comforts such as candy and pencils for the wounded. The civilian population and medical services gave considerable support to the military.
