Taiyo Maru

One of the last Japanese merchant ships to visit Honolulu was the Taiyo Maru on 1 November 1941, less than six weeks before the Japanese attack. On board was Lieutenant Commander Suguru Suzuki who did not leave the ship, but communicated with the principal espionage agent, Ensign Takeo Yoshikawa (Yoshikawa, Takeo and had him fill in a long questionnaire about the ships in Pearl Harbor.
