Soryu

The Japanese aircraft carrier Soryu formed, with Hiryu, the Second Carrier Division of the First Air Fleet. The 3rd Attack Unit, 11th Attack Unit, 3rd Torpedo Attack Unit and the 3rd Fighter Combat Unit flew from her on 7 December. Together with Akagi and Kaga, Soryu was caught by SBD2 Dauntless dive-bombers from Enterprise and Yorktown and sunk on 5 June 1942 in the Battle of Midway (Midway, Battle of).
