Lieutenant Commander Pullen, Harold F.

The captain of the destroyer Reid, Harold Pullen, was ashore when the attack began on Pearl Harbor. As his uniforms were aboard, he set out for his ship in civilian clothes and a straw hat. To his pleasure he found the ship intact and work well in hand to make ready for sea in spite of some of her machinery having been taken apart for refitting.
