Lieutenant Outerbridge, William
Captain of the destroyer Ward, William Outerbridge conducted an attack on a submarine that was flowing the supply ship Antares towards the entrance of Pearl Harbor at 0640 on 7 December 1941. He reported the incident, which concluded with the sinking of the intruder, but the event was not interpreted as the start of a serious attack.
