Hill, Edwin J.

As the last of the First Attack Wave departed Pearl Harbor at about 0840, the battleship Nevada was cast off from her mooring at the northern end of Battleship Row by men under the command of Chief Boatswain Edwin Hill. As his ship moved away he dived into the water to rejoin her. Nevada did not make it to the harbor entrance; repeatedly hit, she was beached near Hospital Point but before that a bomb that hit her forecastle killed Hill.
