Ebey, Frank

Frank Ebey was commander of Battery B, 55th Coast Artillery. Having responded to the attack on 7 December by getting machine guns set up on the tennis courts behind his quarters at Fort Kamehameha he then had to take his battery to the west. His task was to man Barbers Point at the extreme south-western corner of Oahu. This involved a 10-mile trip by barge across the harbor mouth. Six trips were made under intermittent Japanese strafing, fortunately without loss.
