Dive-bomber
A precision bombing technique, dive-bombing, as opposed to horizontal bombing, employed the aircraft's flight-line to guide the bomb directly onto its target. The bomber dived until the point of bomb release and then pulled away, the bomb itself continuing to the target. The Japanese flew Aichi D3A1 Val Type 99 aircraft to bomb ships in Pearl Harbor.
